The Many Facets of the "Core"

Core strength (not just abs) allows you to crawl, climb, dance, throw, run, twerk, jump, play, and move however you choose.⁣

A comprehensive “Core" Strengthening program typically includes:⁣

  • Anti-Extension: Plank variation⁣
  • Rotation: Woodchop, MB Throw⁣
  • Flexion: Reverse Crunch, Leg Lift⁣
  • Anti-Rotation: Pallof Press, Anti-rotation side step⁣
  • Anti-Lateral Flexion: Side Plank Variation⁣

These can be programmed evenly (ex: 2 exercises each category per week) or in a more personalized setting; you can assess strength in each pattern and program based on individual strength, preferences, and functional goals.

Add an additional bonus by including exercises that strengthen the pelvic floor!
